where does he get it? his dad.

this kid.

keeps me (and his dad) moving.
Everyone can see he looks exactly like a King on the outside, but what we are finding out more and more each day is he is just like his daddy on the inside.

Yesterday as we were leaving V-town from our 4th of July festivities (more pictures to come soon) we all quickly stopped at Wendy's to grab dinner.  Luke insisted that he eat every single fry before moving on to his chicken nuggets.  Who else does this? His dad.

This kid is a problem solver.  He doesn't like to use things in the conventional way.  At my parent's cabin there is a little kid table.  Well Luke didn't want to use it to eat off of, he wanted to take it apart and see how all the parts (all 2 of them) work and then put it all back together. Yes, he takes things apart but actually puts them back together. Who does this, you ask? His dad.

Luke has this obsession.  He is obsessed with keys.  He has to have the "coolest" keys around.  Meaning, if we are with my parents it has to be the Suburban keys because it has the most buttons.  And don't you dare try handing him another set, he knows better.  He is just as obsessed with being in the right car as the keys and pretending like he's driving.  Who else has a car obsession? You guessed it. His dad.

This might be my favorite...

Guess what I took as the toy of choice for church last Sunday at my parent's ward. A flash drive.  Yes, people I just said a flash drive.  He loves it.  Nerd alert.  Who else is a tech nerd?  His dad.

Luke has the ability to come give me a kiss right when I'm frustrated with him most.  Drives me crazy.  This is definitely a daddy trait.  Darren does this all the time.  The good news is, my heart melts.

He has this need for adrenaline.  I'm a little late on catching him climb on the chair, but jumping off the side of the pool just isn't cutting it anymore.  This kid is a fish in water.  I'm not even going to say it this time, because he's doing this with his dad.

All these quirky "just like dad" things are what makes me fall harder in love with this boy everyday.

Oh my gosh! I was so nervous when he didn't come out of the water right away. I was thinking "Darren! Pick him up he's drowning! Why aren't you moving??" What a talented kid! Do you have him in swimming lessons? He's so advanced.......
