I have just spent my first 24 {techincally 23} hours away from my baby since October 21 {last year}. I feel it was well deserved. Every mom needs a break. I needed a break.
My cousin Dev invited some girls up to the Deer Valley house for dinner, talking, a massage, and sleeping in. It was bliss. I forgot how nice it was to just get in the car and go, walk the streets without a stroller or baby in arms, and to enjoy interesting dinner conversation.

So question to myself and to everyone {it is an open blog}: For the last 10 months of my life my days have been filled with feedings, diaper changes, cleaning up throw-up, teething, laughs, giggles, playing with toys, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and middle of the night comforting. The 10 months before that my life was filled with meetings with VP of Marketing, working on proposals worth thousands of dollars, creating marketing proposals, and having business lunches. While I know my place is at home, I find myself missing the business world. I miss my boss {who was fabulous BTW} telling me how valuable I was to his team. I miss feeling like I was "powerful".
Any of you still following me? or are you all snoring and playing the tiny violin yet?
I often reflect and smile at my sis-in-law's post "Bless that mom will do good at her workout". Read it. It will make you smile {especially if you are a mama}.
So here is to all you mom's out there {me included} that feel guilty taking time to find themselves again {even just for a few short minutes/hours a day or even week}. To the mom that doesn't feel as pretty anymore post- baby. To the mom that asks herself twice a week "is it Groundhog Day, cause I swear I did this exact thing yesterday and the day before, and the day before".
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE TALENTED. DON'T GIVE UP! and BE YOU!

Isn't it crazy how much you miss your old life yet at the same time you wouldn't give up your "new" one for the world? Darn these babies... what have they done to us!? Love em!
