The second session went better.
Luke still had a tantrum, but was able to stay sitting at the table for most of the session. I was still his number one reinforcement. Kristyn was able to get him to eat multiple bits of beans by squishing them through a garlic press to make them the same consistency as the rice. Genius!
Our sessions last an hour. Here is about 3 minutes above. And below is a tantrum Luke is having because he wasn't able to stay calm with me sitting next to him, so I was removed from the bench.
This is my biggest struggle, not being able to be there to support him during these moments.
I keep learning more and more about how brave my Luke is. Most people think "oh come on, for heavens sakes, it is just a black bean!!" But Luke has a true issue with certain foods. They frustrate, scare, bother, who knows but his issue with them is real. It would be like putting a mouse in front of me for an hour and telling me to tolerate it. I don't know if I could do it, and I would for sure put up a fight.
Bravest Luke! I love him so much.
