test results

I feel like I was a vague blogger on the last post and I hate that.  Vaguebooking is one of my biggest pet peeves, so here we go...

Let me just say it isn't anything too big or "exciting".

Luke has been getting sick a lot lately.  On average about every 2 to 3 weeks we get the same 48 hour bug.  Major congestion, sore throat, and bad cough.  It comes and goes, but it gets exhausting.  Usually the second night of the sick round involves staying up with him most of the night because he can't get comfortable to sleep.

So after this last round (2 weeks ago), I had a break down.

Darren has/had an IgA deficiency and his mom (after doing way more tests than we had to do) found this out when Darren was about two.  So with the medical history on Darren we decided to have Luke tested for the same thing.

I'm happy to say his numbers came in "normal," but just barely.

The normal number for our IgA is 19-145.  That's a huge range to me, but Luke's numbers came in at 23.  So he's just barely hanging on there.  Kathy (the best PA ever) believed strongly that this is why he is getting sick frequently.  Luke has his 2 year check up next month, so we can have a bigger discussion with Dr. Johnson then, seeing a specialist etc., but it feels good to have results back.

Kathy (that's what she likes to be called in the office, love her) said that as a mother she likes to know what she's up against.  Agree 100%

So although Luke's level came in "normal" we now know they aren't exactly high. Keeping him healthy is like on my top priority list these days...

After seeing my friend Jenna use essential oils, and her gently encouraging me to come aboard, I did it.  I'm now hooked.  Luke gets diffused oils during nap time and I'm constantly rubbing stuff on his feet morning and night.  So far so good.  And Darren and I are LOVING them too.  Win, Win.

We also have the probiotics in his water and a multi-vitamin everyday.  And we can't forget the hand sanitizer and hand washing!

(told you it wasn't that exciting)

So here's to a healthy fall and winter!! Keep your fingers crossed. (although we just made a trip to Thanksgiving Pointe farm today with a crew and who knows what you can pick up there...)

We use EO's too. We also are big fans of magnetics that super help our kids stay healthy which work more with the cause instead of just treating symptoms like oils. We also use homeopathics as well. Of course Chiropractic helps 100 % too. Probiotics are major which I am glad you giving them to him. I give my kids omegas too along with a multi. Good luck and I hope you stay sick free!

Best way to keep Luke healthy is for him to spend a lot of time with his buddy Hadley girl!!
