a late night movie

With the arrival of children, your cool radar goes down a couple of notches.  It is just an inevitable part of becoming a parent.

Adult conversations during dinner disintegrate (the older the kiddos get, the worse it gets)
Spontaneity leaves.  Babysitters, bedtimes, and schedules all conflict with this.
and finding a babysitter gets hard.

But every once in awhile the need for speed (ok, really I'm getting out of control here) or the need to just be kids again tugs at us.

Monday night we had a beautiful wedding dinner to attend for Brynlee and Christian at the Hotel Monaco.  It was yummy! After the dinner, we were quickly heading back home to get to a baby and more importantly Kaley.  She was watching the babe, and it isn't an easy task.

But within five minutes, my mom and dad had demanded they would head back home and handle the little mr.  and we were to go off with Tyler and Devrie (who's kids were at their grammy's for the night) to a late night movie.  Yes, a LATE NIGHT MOVIE on a Monday night, no less.

Oh boy, we were all giddy with excitement.  The boys/men included. Yes, pathetic we know.

It was so fun to just do something we hadn't planned on doing like hours or days in advance.

It felt like old times.

So we purchased our tickets to a very empty theater, enjoyed our cherry cokes (we needed them to stay awake past 11), and laughed and talked to our hearts content.

It was perfect.

Cousins.

Ty and Dev had to drive us back to our beds that night, so it made for an even later night for them.  The next day at the wedding, Tyler couldn't stop saying how tired he was from our rendezvous to the movie.

So maybe it is true about the cool radar...  We just aren't cut out for these late nights anymore.

you and your cousin look so much alike!!!
okay yeah so i totally get this. last night we went at 10 pm {because isn't it easier to pitch to a babysitter that your kid will be asleep the whole time?!} anyway the second i sat down i regretted not buying a coke. when did we get so old?!
