blessed

yesterday was one of those days...

i had a micro-fiber towel as my tissue.  pathetic, i know.

i cried, and cried, and cried.

i was beaten down and exhausted.  i wasn't sure how to pick myself up.  i just felt totally alone and ridiculous.

then, it all changed...

i talked to some pretty important and amazing people in my life.  they told me exactly what i needed to hear.  validated my feelings, gave me advice, and straight up listened to a babbling-crying Keisha.

i honestly just felt so blessed.  that so many people cared about me.  they sincerely care about the situations and trials I face in my life. they were there to scoop me up and love me and give me that boost to keep going, and be better.

some days you just need to have those days.  it makes you love the good days.  it makes you evaluate your life.  it makes you stronger for the next time around.

last night as I finally retired to my bed after only having 6 hours of sleep since Sunday night, i ran of list of the things i was grateful for that day...

some included:

a beautiful, healthy, funny, curious boy.
a wonderful mother.
a doctor that will look you in the eye and tell you exactly what you need to hear.
a logical and sensible husband to balance out my passion and opinions of life.
phone calls with girls who just get you.
a girls night out.
the scriptures.
prayer.
my season of life.
that i live right where i do.
and GIRLFRIENDS.

so after a good night sleep, I've picked myself back up.
I have a good life.  (totally obsessed with Good Life by OneRepublic right now)
and I'm going to recite the poem I've had memorized since 6th grade....

Outside my window, a new day I see
And only I can determine what kind of day it will be
It can be busy and sunny, laughing and gay
Or boring and cold…unhappy and gray.
My own state of mind is the determining key,
For I am only the person I let myself be.
I can be thoughtful and do all I can to help
Or be selfish and think just of myself.
I can enjoy what I do and make it seem fun
Or gripe and complain and make it hard on someone
I can be patient with those who may not understand
Or belittle and hurt them as much as I can.
But I have faith in myself and believe what I say
And I personally intend to make the best of each day
