The Kindle

I knew the blasted thing would show up SOMEWHERE.

Let's go back to Saturday night.  It was late, around 10:30ish, and I was ready to crawl in bed and maybe read something to calm me down for sleep.  I will admit, I'm not an avid reader but I do get hooked to good books.  It had been a good week or so since I had used the Kindle for reading.  I'm reading Parenting with Love and Logic right now and it is a good book, but it is old fashioned- like you have to turn each page.  Anyways, I'm getting off track.  So I wanted to get read a book I have on my Kindle that night, and said to Darren "have you seen the Kindle?"  That's when it all started.

We tore the house apart.  We moved all our furniture, which isn't much, but it still took effort.  Looked through every drawer in Luke's room.  Checked under beds and behind cribs.  Went through every dresser in the house.  Cleaned out our cars, which was a plus cause they totally needed it, and still no Kindle.  By 11:45 we decided to call it a night and see if one of us could back track where it was last.

See the thing that had us both a little worried was Darren had taken it to school to read a pdf he downloaded.  We both swore he brought it home, but with a mom brain & a brain fried from thesis and other school obligations- we knew it could be a possibility.

Saturday afternoon rolled around and still no Kindle.  We found ourselves in our closet (the smallest room of the house) still searching for the little device, and decided to say a prayer.  It was a simple prayer and we included Luke.

Sunday- No Kindle.

Monday night rolls around and Darren is on the phone with Verizon.  He's been having difficulties with his phone.  He's frustrated on the phone and needs a sheet of paper to write down a tracking number.  He goes over to the bookshelf we've both search at least 3 times each.  The first thing he pulls out is the Kindle.  Seriously?! Darren's frustration quickly left and we were both left laughing at ourselves. It was right there!! Right under our noses.

Now this is a classic story.  Lose something, search for it, pray, continue searching, and then you find it.  It doesn't matter how old you are, it never hurts to pray.  It also taught me that answers to prayers can be answered while facing another difficulty in life.  We just have to be patient and faithful and accept of when answers to prayers come.

I needed that faith building exercise right now in my life.
