Defended

Darren officially defended his thesis today and it was accepted!

Hip-hip-hooray!
Wahoo!
Yee-haw!
Boy howdy!
& maybe even the BYU fight song. (still don't know it)

He had his presentation today at 1.  He had to defend (or present) his research to the board.  The board consisted of 3 professors from the university.  He also had some fellow colleagues in there who asked questions and were there for support.  Finally, he had two very important women in his life there to smile at him and bring treats and drinks for the men- Karen (his mom) and myself.

I've had to hold back tears at least 3 times today because I was just so darn proud of the guy.  I listened to him present something he's poured a lot of time, sweat, & love into for the last 3 years and he just sounded so smart. I don't really know how else to put it.  It was so charming to just watch and listen to him today, I definitely was smiling from ear to ear.  Darren has really gained an education here.  It just oozes from him.

So here's to Darren (holding up my cup to make a toast)- You did it! We did it! Now get out there and make our millions!

Here is Darren with Dr. Mattson, his head professor, right after the defense.  It wouldn't have been possible without his guidance.

I'm one tired mama & wife today but my heart if full of gratitude and love because I'm so blessed.

Random: Luke is now 18 months and here are his stats:
Length: 33 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 26 lbs. 8 oz. (50th percentile)
Head Circum: 49 1/4 cm (75th percentile)
