luke gets tubes

Luke got tubes put in both ears on May 8th.

After getting his 8th double ear infection in a year, we decided it was time to just have it done.  Our ENT said the Cons of having tubes are less than the Cons of continually being on antibiotics and in pain.

Dr. Heidi Heras was his ENT and she was great.  The surgery wasn't a big deal at all. We had to be at the American Fork hospital by 6:45 for his surgery at 7:30.  I'm continually impressed with AF hospital.  The staff has always been so great.  The nurse helped us get Luke ready and tried to calm his nerves with stickers.

Luke perked right up when he saw the toys in the waiting room.

I was relieved that we didn't have to see him go under, the nurse took him away before they did any of that.  Luke left us around 7:35 and was back with us by 8:00 (after recovering in post-op for 10 minutes).

Luke wasn't too keen on the hospital gown... but we got it on him.

I thought we were going to have a day of relaxing and movie watching, but Luke was back to his happy self about an hour and half after surgery.

Darren and I both swear he's been happier boy since he came out of surgery :)
