valentines day... with a toddler

Luke really decided to show his love on Valentine's day by being absolutely beside himself.  It started the  day before (Feb 13 for those who can't remember) when he refused to eat both lunch and dinner and proceeded to disapprove of his valentine's oatmeal breakfast.

By ten o'clock Tuesday morning, LUKE WAS DONE.

To be honest, I was close to being done.  But fortunately, I have a little more maturity and knew that this kid needed to eat something, anything.

After a 30 minute battle to even put on his shirt (which has never happened) and some nice whining at the legs all morning, I gathered us up quickly and went and got the one thing I knew would make this kid content...

Wendy's chicken nuggets.

He inhaled them and all of his fries.  Sucked down his water and then gave me a kiss when he was all done.  I just wish he would have given me this reaction when I offered him a sandwich, some pizza, oatmeal, fruit, umm I know there were more choices given but I've tried to delete this time out of my memory.

But I got desperate.  Desperate to have my little monkey back and I will say it was worth the $2.46 (I have it memorized by heart) to make him come back to me.

once he was under control again, he was able to have a little date himself.
Hadley and Luke.

Darren and I did the traditional date the Friday before (dinner and a movie), and decided to keep it low key on Valentines.  We got a heart pizza from Papa Murphy's and split a Red Mango.

Valentines with a toddler is romantic!!!

Luke was sweet and sent his grandparents all homemade cards.
Luke and Hadley had a great time painting.

I would have taken more pictures (this one is actually from Chelsey's phone) but between the three kiddos and the mess, and the homemade granola I had in the oven, it just didn't happen.

I think they all enjoyed the card and photos we sent them.

You guys did more for V day than we did! Cute painting by the kiddos. I just got out Olive's do-a-dots yesterday and she LOVES them--thanks!
